Child Care

The Cheyenne and Arapaho Child Development Program strives to instill different life experiences in our youth to help them prepare for their future with the skills needed to live as productive adults. By offering quality, affordable childcare services, we provide our children with safe, healthy, nurturing environment designed to encourage them to develop their fullest potential.

Child Development Centers

The Child Development Program offers tribally-owned child development center in both Concho and Clinton. Both centers are licensed by the State of Oklahoma Department of Health and Human Services (DHS) and are Two Star Facilities.

The Two Star Status means...

  • We provide a system to inform parents of the quality criteria attained by our child care programs.
  • We constantly work to improve the quality of our child care by increasing the competence of our teachers.
  • We work to raise the Department’s subsidy reimbursement rate so that more slots, and more opportunities, can be available for children whose families are receiving child care assistance.

Child Care Subsidy Requirements

  1. The child(ren) must be an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe. A copy of their CDIB must be submitted in the application process.
  2. The family must reside in the Cheyenne-Arapaho Service Area, which includes the counties of Beckham, Blaine, Canadian, Custer, Dewey, Ellis, Kingfisher, Major, Roger Mills, and Woodward.
  3. The program has been initiated as an incentive for families who are employed or in school. Therefore you must meet one of the following conditions:
  4. Both parents work
  5. Both parents are in school or training
  6. One parent is employed and the other parent is in school or training
  7. A single parent who either works, attends school, or both
  8. The child must attend a licensed Child Care Facility. The childcare facility is of the parent(s) choice and must be located and contracted by the parent(s). Relative provider care is the only exemption. Relative care is defined as that provided by a grandparent, aunt, uncle, or adult sibling in the provider’s home.
