School Clothing Program

The Cheyenne and Arapaho School Clothing Program was established to provide tribal students, between the ages of 3-18, with funds to purchase clothing for school.

Depending on funding available and the age of the student, the program can provide up to $300 for the purchase of clothing. All enrolled tribal members between the age of 3 (by Sept 1) and 18, and who are enrolled in Head Start through High School for that school year, are eligible for the supplemental funds allotted for the School Clothing Program. In 2019, applications were accepted between July 16 and October 31 and funds for school clothing were provided to more than 2,500 Cheyenne and Arapaho students.

The School Clothing Program will distribute funds via convenient cards for the 2020-2021 school year.

A reminder the Convenient Cards will be allowed for clothing items only, at any retail store that accepts VISA cards.

Stores that the cards currently do not work at:

  • “Novelty” or “Specialty” stores
  • Spencer’s
  • Ralph Lauren Polo

This is something that we are working closely with Convenient Cards to fix.
